What is the difference between SlimLine and ClimateLine tubing?Updated 18 days ago

Both SlimLine and ClimateLine tubes are lightweight options designed for ResMed CPAP machines, but they serve slightly different purposes. Here’s how they compare:

✅ SlimLine Tubing

  • Lightweight and flexible: Ideal for people who move around during sleep.

  • Standard performance: Delivers air at your prescribed pressure but does not have built-in heating.

  • Compatible with most ResMed machines that use standard tubing ports.

  • Diameter: 15mm (slimmer than traditional 22mm tubing).

Best for: Users in dry or temperate environments who don’t experience issues with condensation or rainout.

🔥 ClimateLine Tubing

  • Heated tubing: Built-in sensors actively warm the air to reduce condensation inside the tube (also known as rainout).

  • Automatically adjusts humidity: Works with ResMed’s Climate Control system to maintain optimal temperature and moisture levels.

  • Slightly stiffer due to heating coil, but still flexible.

  • Requires a compatible ResMed machine with a humidifier (like the AirSense 10 or 11 series).

Best for: People in colder climates, or anyone who experiences water buildup in their tubing or dryness in the nose/throat.

Our Recommendation

We always recommend upgrading to ClimateLine tubing if your machine is compatible. The added comfort, consistent humidity, and reduction in condensation make a noticeable difference in therapy quality—especially in cooler environments or air-conditioned rooms.
